My bike had a 16 k service clearances were adjusted as well as the spark plugs being replaced (denso for denso). The mechanic also cleaned the throttle body. Now I am suspicious the idle speed has gone up by maybe 50rpm but this is difficult to swear to it looking at the rev counter. Any technique to get an accurate rpm readout without taking the top off & using a diag tool? The chenge into 1st when stationary has also become extremely cluncky & jerky; maybe related
Check the chain tension, if too tight this can cause clunky gear selection. I also run mine towards the loose end of the recommendation
Yes I have been running mine on just above 30mm for this reason and also of suspension travel is set to softest (roads are crap over here)
a quick update, I decided to give the chain a proper clean (last time was in Aug!) as it does affect the gearchange and also check the chain slack. Found out it was tighter than I had previously set it. I can only assume it happenned when I changed the rear tyre last year. So with a clean and slacker chain the shift is back to how it was (so far fingers X) Thanks for the heads up. On the idle front, I noticed the clock was misadjusted so I assume the battery must have been disconnected during the service and the ECU had reset itself. It is now slowly getting back down to about 1200
