Hi guys and girls, I'm sure I used to be a member a few years back, oh well newly joined as I am looking at getting another blade.

I'm quite active on the Tankslap and Ducati forums, everyone knows me as Cornish, coming from St Ives yet live up near Walton-On-Thames in Surrey now.

I do have a habit of changing my bike every few months, yet need to flog the Ducati 848 EVO SE 2012 now as the house extension is sucking up the funds. I'll chuck that up here as and when I can.

So, what bike to get....well having been off the four cylinders for a couple of bikes, I thought I'd try my luck with an 09' HRC CBR1000 for a change. I can only throw in £6.5-7k. I've always bee a fan of the styling and of course the reliability. A complete all rounder I reckon. What's everyone's view?

Looking forward to some banter over the coming months and "bridging the hap" between forums :)

Hi Cornish you won't go wrong with a Fireblade only decision has to be the colour, as many on here will tell you Repsol are the quickest.
Like a lot of guys on here I went from a R1 to the Blade and never regretted my decision. Good luck with the bike as and when you buy

Cheers Bradt....yes I'm seeing a lot of Repsol quickest comments, I love the banter.

R1 eh, well lush bit of kit yet it's never floated my boat shame to say, a good mates got one and chucked over 25k miles on it and loves it.

When I got my BMW S1000rr in motosport colours I was told everyone will have one, and you'll struggle to sell it (he knew I change my bikes, a lot), yet it sold quick.

Basically colours are personal I suppose and I've always liked the white, blue and red colour schemes of HRC.

I do like the Repsol scheme though. Yet not sure I'd get away with it with all the grey hair....:)

    welcome to the forum Cornish.
There is a bit of banter over fastest colours of course, normally the repsols and the black boys...but you noticed that the real fastest colour RED (as chosen by the red arrows, ferrari not to mention Red Lingerie which gets everyone going fastest) well we stay quiet and let them butt heads whilst we know the truth.

Not at all gents, have you been on Tankslap, this abuse on colour doesn't even register...yet :)

Although I do spend most my time in the FS section...my wife says I've got the equivalent of her shoe buying disease, difference being mine is motorbike helmets.

I'm pretty settled on the blade now, just gotta sell the 848 machine and HRC here I come.

Ok so the Repsol thing is real!

Yeah I've been looking this afternoon and man you can get some good bikes for decent money. Hit MCN, auto trader, here, other forums yet haven't decided on which one yet. Got to make my mind up next weekend as a deadline. Hope my 848 goes soon the...:)
