Well I had to make a claim after being extremely clumsy with my bike. Now it is time to renew my car insurance which is a seprate polocy with a different company. I was told I had to disclose any insurance claim I have made on any vehicle on any other car/ bike policies I have. Is this correct?
Yes it’s a bloody nightmare The missus had a near miss with a bike last year a scuffed foot peg was the only damage,he claimed £2008 unbelievable, but it gets better, her policy went up by £40 a month on her car and as I’m a named driver on it my car insurance has also gone up because of it and to proper rub salt in the wound as I didn’t tell my bike insurance about this they charged £95 to amend my details on my policy The really annoying part is I wasn’t even in the bloody car with her I was 75 miles away at work Absolute joke insurance nowadays they don’t even wear a stripy jumper or mask and a bag with swag on when they rob you
thank you guys for confirming my added misery. Welcome tp rip off britain! You get bled to death no matter what you do. Long time ago during thatcher years some wise man said you will soon be charged for the air you breath; and look at it now. Hard pill to swallow. Apparently if you have an accident in a foreign country, you still need to declare it. Next phase is that any claim under insurance (motor, house, health etc...) would increase the premium on all the others
Worst still you are supposed to name any accidents you were involved in, even if NOT your fault, it can still increase your premiums an insurance person friend or a friend told me, it's because maybe you attract accidents and could end up costing the insurance company more at some point I really can't see how they can do that... Crazy world
Anyone who has renewed their car insurance in the last few months will be fully aware how premiums have increased, a total legal ripoff
Mine’s just gone up £9 a month for 2 cars on a joint policy so now nearly £700. . Maybe they don’t think that I’ll make the whole year at my age
In my view, the hike in premiums is to recover losses on property weather related claims. So like the government, they use motorist as cash cow
From what I have heard, electric cars are costing the insurance company's millions and they don'y want to diss EV's so it is getting passed on to everyone
