I'm not sure it is. I see a small window down the RHS of the screen displaying some things that I would've thought were private. If a conversation isn't private is it possible to send a PM to another member via this forum?
PMs are private, although I suspect mods have access to them for the purpose of monitoring harassment etc. Perhaps @sps170373 could elaborate?
'Conversations' ARE a PM and applies as above: supposedly private etc The messages you see on the home page are 'Status Updates' and not for the general purpose of messages. I have just posted a status update.
I think some people accidentally post messages in the status update for people thinking it's a pm is that what you mean Kev?
Yeah you can write a post to someones profile which is not in a conversation and that will be shown to all.
Damn all the other responses. That's like me saying I have something really important to say, but not in public I was going to say, "No, now post your beef on here so we can all see".
Or its a delicate conversation he's wanting privately with @Selmer50mark regarding another rabbit costume fest in Garstang toilets
TBH @Lozzy I'm not sure. Given Nigel's pic post on here. But I'm not sure why some would post personal stuff in a status update. Have you still got..., how much is... etc etc
That was a mistaken PM I guess. It was in response to this post: https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/front-fork-crash-protectors.37424/ I think it's only because some new members do not understand forum 'mechanics' or they're just in too much of a haste to get a message out.
