I know this may sound crazy, but I really want to fit a journey timer to my bike. In my car (on my radio) there is a little timer that simple starts when you turn the car on, so you can look down and know how long you have been driving for. It's handy for long journeys etc - but also even just to time different routes on your commute etc. So I really want one on my bike. I'm hoping I might be able to simply buy a little clock type unit, wire it into the ignition, and mount it beside or on top of the speedo.
Can anyone help me as to where I could find and how I would do this?
    Thanks!

This is a bit more than a timer but that is one of its functions Healtech MultiMeter 5

And there's a forum discount if you want one :)

Haha thanks, yes does way more than I need, and i was hoping to find something for a couple of quid, not almost £100! :)

What I had in mind is something like this:

This is a little temp gage I bought on ebay. If I could have something like that, wired into the ignition, that counted the minutes/hours, it would be perfect.

Yes but that means taking my phone out of my pocket at the start and at the end. Hardly ideal. I just want something I can look down at any time.

Don't you have a clock on your dash? Just look at it when you leave, and then again when you arrive?
