Despite the fact that today would have better suited to a yacht than a bike, I had a play on one of these today, Even though I initially thought it was ugly and a bit too long in the wheelbase, I have to admit, it was a hoot to ride, torque is endless, had the bmw shifter assist thing fitted which is fun, standard exhaust is a bit weedy sounding though. Definitely one for me to consider next bike round, along with a Speed Triple or a CB1000R, I seem to be embracing an upright and mostly naked future.
Excuse my negative opinion about BMW, but most of BMW motorcycles look like industrial vacuum cleaners (except R9T and S 1000 RR). I just do not like BMW. 2¢ Buk
No forks SPS, those are solid lumps of metal attached to a really weedy looking duolever or telelever type suspension unit, not sure what they call it, it works ok, no diving under braking, although it was a bit damp out so no really hard anchoring was performed. I think they're a marmite thing Ramsay. It's not to everyone's taste I'll agree, but then I like Dyson's too
K1300R is one of the best bike in the world. Many people said bad things on it, but just people who didn't ride it...... Engine are just a monster and with the tele lever you re just glue to the road and can ride very fast and safe. I bought one after my S1000RR and i really regret it sometimes .... Perfect for commuting, ridind sport in the twisties or make a road trip on few days.
Here we call the BMW Head Light "Karl Dall" style. Karl Dall is a comedian with a similar configuration of the eyes, like Marty Feldman. Before I start to love, freezes hell. The Bavarians may build good bikes, but the design should be left to the Italians. 2¢ Buk
ah...now I understand the Willi II picture in the signature. It's true, there is a certain similarity. But please...don't compare a fine motorcycle with that ugly soap opera emperor!
Can't see the point of large capacity naked bikes. They're just too tiring to ride quickly for any length of time. I mean, just imagine an extended M-way trip on that S 1000 R
When I started biking 'fairings' were for race bikes or tourers, all bikes were nakeds. Went to the South of France and the B'ol Dor on my GPZ1100. Had great neck muscles them days!
2006 to 2012 I had a Tuono ( longest I've ever owned a bike ) and did many a long jaunt on it, Monaco Monza x 2 TT x 2 Cadwell Magny Cours I bought it thinking it might slow me down.....it didn't.
