    The yoshi on my RR9 was almost as bad. used to get looks when sitting at lights. Had to richen it up a bit at idle to fix

    This isn't tickover, this is a low throttle held steady to set off, slowly and quietly. If you let the clutch out just as the revs drop (as you can see it's random, not a steady predictable hunting), it virtually stalls, and then requires a fistful, to save stalling. So it's not just the hunting, it's the whole sequence of events.
