on way home from work last night . traffic stationary at lights . I had seen them change so knew I had a few mins so filtered down to the front. it's a wide road so i never crossed white line ect . gentleman in a honda accord decided he didn't want to wait at lights and swung his car out into me. no indication . I slammed into drivers door and managed to surf the side of his car untill we were both facing the other way round. amazed I'd stayed on I put stand down and got off bike he got out car and when I asked if he had used his mirror (which was now on the floor) he replied in his native tongue. I could not get him to speak English at all. some pedestrians tried to help and he spoke to them . the fella doing the interpreting said hes no phone number and doesnt know insurance details. i took pic of his reg .I checked bike no leaks just scuffed to body and bar ends . as I was doing that asian guy drove off. I'm ok bruised arm and fractured knuckle and finger end . IMG-20191116-WA0003.jpg IMG-20191116-WA0002.jpg

GWS. Hate twats like that, £ to a penny he wasn't insured and probably doesn't have a valid license.

Personally I would be keeping an eye out for him in the future and follow him to see where he lives/works. You can check the MIB database to see if the car shows as insured, if not you won't get much but you could get the car off the road.

Arsehole, I’d certainly report it as him having driven off without providing any details. Cover yourself at a minimum.
I hope the injuries heal quick!

He's obliged to give not only his details but his insurance details as it's classed as an injury RTC. (Or within 24hrs at a police station etc)
Relative legislation is here....go and report it

Pic also reinforces the need for good boots. I am often guilty of wearing lightweights. This is just more proof that we can't rely on the old: 'It'll never happen to me.'

    Glad you're 'relatively' okay.;)

Definitely report to police as although a small injury to yourself it is an injury and he has failed to give you either a contact phone number to follow up the incident and provide insurance details or failed to wait to make sure you are ok!

    That sucks.
Hope you get it all sorted ASAP. I’ll concur with the previous comments and suggest you report him.
    Could have been far worse.
I’ve had an almost identical off in which I came completely off and bounced down the road.
    Fucking U turn bastards.

    Chin up matey

Definitely go to the police and report it. If for no other reason than to protect yourself - he left the scene, but if he went to the police station and spun them a yarn this morning you could be in bother. As both parties are required to report it.

if he has and you haven’t (and don’t within the 24hours) plod could be knocking on your door.

Do you have a camera Gravel ?
I had a very similar incident in February, third party insurers were challenging liability until they saw my camera footage.
I won’t ride without it now.

    Doesn't always work.

A good friend of mine had his car wiped out on a dual carriageway. I won't go into details, but it was straightforward in respect of liability and to back it up, the whole incident was caught on his dash cam.

Submitted the claim and hos own insurance company said that after consulting the third party insurers it was agreed that he (my buddy) was liable for the cause of the crash.

So my buddy calls them and asks how they came to the determination that he was liable when the third party had driven into the side of him?

The reply? (and I have heard the recording) "I ride a motorbike and I know more about these things than you are ever likely to know!"

So my buddy after getting over the shock of that reply gave him his qualifications (similar to mine) Police class 1 rider and driver, Accident investigator, Advanced riding and driving examiner, Vehicle examiner and, and, and.......

The response was along the lines of "When you have been doing this job as long as I have, you become an expert in determining who is at fault"

Turns out he valued his 2 years experience of looking at a few pictures and reading a few statements above the experience my buddy had attained in attending over 1,000 fatal, catastrophic and injury crashes not to mention the thousands of damage only knock.

And he decided that the dash cam footage was fake....

The complaint is still ongoing and even this idiots bosses sound a little embarrased.

The outcome will be interesting, but the point is, dash cam footage doesn't always work....
