Yep, it does bend the Pillion seat as it's made outa Cardboard! You can (if very skillfull like Moi ) thread the straps through the rear subframe without removing the rear tail piece using zippy ties first as a draw string then taping the straps on then drawing back through like this. But, after all this myther the whole shebang still rolls around like a 'Pissed up Pig on a Cake Trolley' so I opted for the far better solution of a Renntec Rack. A Country Mile better all round!
That's what I've done ... For the US10 I use for work it is fine ... For any trips I will be getting a proper rack
With the Renntec Rack U don't need to use the Gold coloured straps/hoops at all, just loop the Black ones back on it's self using the attached clip.
I've got the tank adapter ... But I won't use it. The tank is solid black and therefore marks just by looking at it. Happy using the rear seat
