Having bought myself some alpinestars GP pro gloves recently and worn them perhaps a maximum of a dozen times or so, I have noticed the seam stitching on the inside of the index finger has come away, leaving an opening.
Unfortunately, although they were brand new they were purchased from a private seller on eBay some time ago, so returns etc are not an option.
Can anyone recommend a leather repair specialist in the Teesside area to have them sewn back together or alternatively anyone who offers a postal service.
    Thanks

Strange that because my alpinestars gp pro did exactly same although I had worn them a lot they were still fairly new. I sewed the finger together myself. You only need a good needle & sturdy cotton :)

Oh I see, thats good to know. I thought it would have to be done professionally using some sort of secure stitching. Needle & thread it is then! Now where have I put that needlecraft box..... :D

Well I suppose some may say it needs doing professionally but that's bonkers to waste money like that...just double the stitching & keep going over it till you happy. Sewed mine last summer & they still going strong :D

Abb, there's a little old fashioned type cobbler in Norton. Think he does leather repairs. Failing that he'll know someone who does.

The cobblers is on the little road leading into the supermarket that is behind Barclays Bank at the opposite end of the high street to the duck pond, if that makes sense.

Failing that there is a place attached to the car park opposite Blackwells butchers. I know they do textiles etc, so chances are they may well do gloves for you.

Same thing happened to my GP pro gloves. They are back with alpinestars now getting fixed. Not happy considering how much they cost.

I know you said you purchased them from a private seller, because as you know the first point of contact is usually the retail dealer.

But in this case, I would suggest that you write to the importer at http://www.alpinestars.com/

The importer used to be Moto-Direct http://moto-direct.com/ but they seem to have dropped the brand from their range.

The reason I say this is that write to the importer, explain the situation and they may be able to help as it is their reputation on the line and it is unacceptable for gloves or any kit to fall apart so quickly.

If you get no joy from the main web site, then drop a line to Moto Direct who are really good people and they as the former importer and distributor may be able to tell you who the best person to contact is.

Just got a picture message from a mate at the local bike shop saying mine had been repaired. I'll give them a run on the weekend and see how they go. image.jpeg
