In June I'm planning a 10 / 11 day trip to Italy with the other half. Starting in Lancashire heading to Dover / Calais then to lake Como. Thinking it will take 3 days to get there doing as little motorway miles as possible. Then we have 3 days by the lake where riding will be minimal or non-existent as it will be chilling out without the kids. Coming home we have 4 or 5 days to kill and can take in a few more sights / great roads. Having never ridden over in Europe before I need all the help I can get planning the route. Will definitely be doing the Stelvio Pass but other than that I’m open to suggestions.
Whenever I head out that way top route for me is Wassen - Innertkirchen (Sustenpass) route 11 then head south to Obergoms (Grimsel pass) route 6. Then turn east route 19 to Andermatt (Furkastrasse pass) stay on route 19 all the way to Chur. Try and head for Koblenz on German Swiz boarder on the way back this is the start of the B500 and you can follow this all the way up to Baden-Baden.
Mandello del Lario for the Moto Guzzi Factory - on lake Como Crossing Switzerland/Italy on the route to the Maloja Pass Silvaplana/ St Moritz Julier Pass Route 3 to Chur Switzerland Either Chur Switzerland to Mandello del Lario, or the other way round. Look forward to seeing your route !
