I've had a wonky rear indicator for a while and decided to open the loom connectors and clean up the contacts properly. I mean the oblong coloured ones, usually blue and orange for indicators. The male part, attached to the accessory, was easy to separate the terminals from the connector housing, and as expected the surfaces were green with corrosion. However, the female end, attached to the main loom, has defeated me. I cannot find the trick to disengage the terminals from the housing. Does anyone know the method? If I had a spare one I'd cut it open and see whats inside holding the terminal in place.
You should be able to stuff a needle down the connector from the wiring end to release the metal lug. If it's like these you can buy them.
Yes that's them, great, where you get that pic? I was trying as you say but couldn't figure out where the releasing bit was.
The release lever is showing in the picture (top part of the left hand orange piece) You lift it and pull them apart. The picture is showing the two halves apart. Chin

Yes, and the pins will not budge on the female part, the one on the left in the photo.I cannot figure out what's holding it. Do you know what they are listed as, so I can google them?
Just google Honda Fireblade indicator connectors, they're generic across the Japanese makes, same as Suzuki, Yamaha etc.
