Mmm. I'm on record as stating that I firmly believe that JL99 will trounce MM93 a few times this season. However, the closer we get to the first race, the more nervous poor Jorge must be feeling. Don't forget that games and tactics are key genetics in these top guys.
He was chatting mostly to the woman behind the counter - he seemed very happy with his new Russian wife and her cooking abilities. I didn't see him put a bet on, he may have been counting his winnings.
I'm not a fan of his personality, but I do think he is a world class rider. And the "Dear George" blog is hilarious.
Thanks @Demmel. For others, be aware that the first 38 minutes is looped promo before anything positive happens!
Must be a nightmare for Honda - team launch spent talking to a team rider in bandages discussing medical procedures on broken bones ! and they haven't even started yet ! Nightmare start for Honda, but see what they can do .....
Let down by the colour scheme remaining unchanged. But well impressed that Mick Doohan and Alex Criville can still fit into their racing leathers 20 years on.
Noted. Looking at this objectively I do think that we are being bullshitted to. I don't think he is going to be fit in time for Qatar, which is only 7 weeks after surgery. That scaphoid bone, that makes the wrist joint possible, seems to be a tricky little blighter. It is very small, so there is a limit to how many screws and plates can be put in there - hardly any blood circulates to it and put screws in the wrong place risks the blood flow completely. Doctors talk of 8-12 weeks - and nothing about getting on a MotoGP straight after that ! https://www.hss.edu/conditions_scaphoid-fractures-nonunion-wrist-fractures.asp If I was him I would take the full 12 weeks sickie, and not come back before it was cast iron fixed. Then take it from there - get to know the bike, maybe a few wins, finish the season with a few trophies - everyone happy. So he should stay away for 12 weeks - put £50 on Ducati to win the 2019 title - and give it his all next year
This is all getting very interesting - and please understand this is not some kind of personal attack against him (he is injured for god's sake). Before all of this I had never heard of a scaphoid bone - so all that has been interesting reading, right there. Now we know a bit more about scaphoid bones - and that we should all try not to break ours if at all possible - what about contracts ? what is the story regarding contracts ? I am thinking, well Honda signed him up to race and do their promo. He is earning a lot of money, right. So you pay someone a lot of money, but they injure themselves, in their own free time, their own fault - and now he can't ride the motorbike for which he is being paid 1 giant shitload of money to do. So how does that work ? does he still get the pay-cheques ? or do they get all corporate and say - ride the bike or naff-off ? I am intrigued by the whole thing. https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/912189/1/lorenzo-explains-unlucky-training-crash-injury
