My first service at 500 miles on me 2011 blade cost me 29 notes for the castrol oil 8 notes for filter with free washer!

Then it wash clean lube and adjust chain/ tyre pressures coolant and brake fluid check torque on all major bolts all this for 37 notes happy days!

Yes i did this myself after buying parts at trade and having me book stamped by the dealer part of the buying deal ;)

Damn that is good . Getting the stamp is the only reason i use a dealer for servicing.

I have to book my bike in for its 600 /first service mile service. A couple of quick questions:

The bike is now 11 months old doe stha tmean it will also need a 12 months service at the same time

Anyone know what to expect to pay for this service, buke will be going to my local dealer who supplied it

Thinking of asking them to fit a large OE screen for me, let them split the fairing rather then me, any idea how much labour i should expect etc, and at what rate bearing in mind this is the East of England and not Central London.

    Thanks Fella's.

Depends if your dealer will do the 1st service labour free. 1st service here is about £80. Labour rate £45 per hour.

To fit the screen I'd expect an additional up to an hours labour.

Not much if any difference between the 1st and 12 month service.

Had mine today £145 at Bransons in Yeovil, same oil change and list of checks :)

My only gripe, they use the old engine oil to lube the chain and it makes a bloody mess of my white wheels ! Just washed cleaned chain and reprotected with clear wurth wax :D much better now

I paid £168 for my 1year service yesterday, Bridge Exeter. I must be mad. My chain also looks like i have had 3 in1 oil tipped on it.

Bridge have always been on the pricey side, unfortunately. A mate of mine goes to a little one man band out in the sticks near cullompton who he swears by but whenever I ask he can never remember his bloody name. But of course, there's no dealer stamp. Not a problem for me with my old nail but you guys with warranty's and residuals to worry about are stuck.

My thoughts too, but it would be an overnighter, I reckon.

That's my problem most of my customers are from miles away so they travel! However my customers are welcome in the workshop to watch or even help, my saying is.. If they don't let you in the kitchen would you still eat the food....lol

I have the big screen for MGP reruns or DVDs of the road racing....lol
