My son was the same obsessed with wanting to get the knee down, I told him it is usually followed with fairings, exhaust, handlebars, etc. Anyway he took his bike on a track day and then he text my other son to say he had come off trying to get his knee down, He was not happy because the bike went round the corner but he did not :( luckily I only ride on the roads and dont feel my life is not complete until I have got my knee down.:D

A mate of mine, when I was about 18 told of his knee downs, what he did not think of was the wear marks had to line up with direction of travel. using a grinder to make it look like a knee down needs thinking about.

ok, having just returned from the TT and paid close attention to how the riders use the power of the bike in a more upright position rather than relying on corner speed, I am now on a mission NOT to get my knee down. I know this sounds strange, but I'm in agreement with Nigel and Simon about how too much knee down can actually slow you down on the fast corners.

However, if we're doing gratuitous knee down pics then here are some of mine ;)

knee down at TT will likely lose your leg on a kerb, not many road races get there knees down, best saved for circuit racing for sure, good pics Gary, thought i would postr the two, but got loads more if needed lol

I would agree with that as your R1 has enough power to give you a whole new hair doo...
