Thanks Liam. Have downloaded to my '929' Folder and will read later.;)

It's bound to be more reliable than the biased MCN!

Bought mine at 6 months old and 3K miles from and friend of a friend on the IOM, it had been run in ‘properly’
Put another 92K on it in under 3 years, epic workhorse, never failed me once, usual Honda issues of crap calipers and warped discs the only issue I ever had, never saw a dealers workshop, home fettered, oil and filter change every 4K, never had a shim check, as I couldn’t be bothered, they don’t build em like that anymore.

Paid 4K as he couldn’t sell it and that’s all he was offered as a trade in back on the mainland and he was emigrating, got 2.5K when I traded it for a 954, absolute cheap biking at its best.

    Well, that gives me inspiration.:D:D

Truly like mine, and as I've said before, I actually prefer it to the 954.;)

Difficult call that for me, the 954 was a more advanced refined Blade as Blades always managed to evolve easily, they just got a little better each model. They were a little top heavy around the headstock, and felt a little wide. Likewise my RR6 just took the game onto another level in the Blade evolution, more agile all around.

Nice looking Blade Nige, don’t even think mine looked that clean when I bought it

I asked the same question via PM! :)

Most of my searches were via eBay.

After noting Gary's accomplishments, I have w-i-d-e-n-e-d my horizons. Now trawling MCN and Autotrader as well!

(Wouldn't pay £7300 for a 929 though. Ambitious call - even to a seasoned collector.)

Loved my 929. Bought it new as previous years stock from motorcycle city I think for a song. Put about 40k on it over 7 or 8 years I guess. Rode it in to the ground really as I used it all year round and rarely cleaned it.

The only problems I had were...
    - Spark plug blew out of the head and took the thread with it at about 15k from memory. The only service anyone did other than me was the first one so a bit irritating. Quite a job to get fixed but dismantled it all and got a company to put an insert in and all was good.
    - Fuel pump fuse went out of the blue which was fixed by a replacement pump and new fuse.
    - Stator burned out at 35k, replaced with electrex one which also burned out as did the replacement. Got bored being dumped by the side of the road and wanted a new bike so sold it at that point.

Other than that it was as good as gold and none of the bike I got after it were anywhere near as good until I got my 2007 cbr1000rr 4 years ago.

929 954 I think a lot of the nuts and bolts were titanium also the exhaust headers., I will need one for the collection but it’s my least favourite to look at and ride.
