Looks like this is going to be no more, paving the way for Marquez to join repsol Honda, amazing what the power of Honda can achieve!!!

I thought it was a load of crap anyway ..... some of these riders might not have been in a factory team but some had a factory bike and factory support so what was the difference anyway and as Honda said they would just put him in another garage and have the sponsor as Repsol so makes no difference really..... it might have worked if there were more teams in the Moto Gp class and the other teams were closer to the factory bikes ... if i had a good rider i would want him on the best bike and the best team

Rookies in the first year in Moto Gp are not allowed to join a factory team if you have a satellite team... example Suzuki never had a satellite team so you could join them straight away Honda and Yamaha you could not join there Factory teams aka Repsol and factory Team Yamaha.... now that did not stop you getting a factory bike as did Simoncelli when he joined Gresini....Honda Japan made the decision to give him the bike as would they would do for Marquez.... so all in all another gaff stupid rule from Moto Gp

Seems a rather daft rule if you ask me, they should be able to go into any team they are wanted

When it was introduced, it made sense, more money & bikes floating about, and was a way of satelite teams attracting sponsors, however its no use now, should the rookie rule have stayed, either Gresini or LCR would have either had marquez placed with them, along with all his sponsors and entire entourage, therefore leaving current sponsors and team personell out in the cold for a year only for them to struggle to get everything back the year after... or either of them would have lost there RCV for next year, also can i just point out that the rubbish about the rookie rule being abolished due to honda is just that, rubbish, at silverstone all the current members of IRTA apart from Herve Poncheral voted to abolish it, so thats yamaha, honda, ducati, suzuki...
