Wow.....can't believe what I've just witnessed. This is true history in the making. Top three all legends in my eyes and thoroughly deserving of the podium. That long lap penalty too. Amazing amazing race that no one could predict and at least two of them would have been there even if Marquez was present!

I'm stunned.....best sport in the world!!:)

I suspect Vale may well be offering a few sacrifices to the MotoGP Gods tonight. Not sure who was luckier, Vale or Syahrin on Moto2 but both are lucky to be alive tonight.

Vinales was extremely lucky too, he actually had both hands off and was cowering (all in a microsecond I might add).

While going round a corner :eek:

ZARCO getting the finger of blame pointed at him again. I don't agree with that though, he's not a dangerous rider. Quite the opposite in fact. He wasn't that far of line eithero_O:rolleyes:

Just a very unfortunate accident..... But this is a dangerous sport

Very cool from Rossi - have a quick look in case there is another one on the way ! Iconic picture of Rossi.

The state of the wrecked bike behind him

    Surprised nothing caught fire.

Surely they will have to put some air fencing on that corner ?

There was air fencing on that corner....... Zarco's bike went straight through it!!!

The nature of that corner means any bikes going straight on will plough through any riders going round that corner..... Think its just highlighted how dangerous that part of the track is

I know, I saw that. What I was thinking was to have something between (or in) the gravel trap and the track on that corner.

It seems to me that the bikes are traveling down the straight so any accident will be in that direction of travel - not backwards or sideways. So if they had some kind of fencing in that gravel trap that would help slow progress - successive small low impact air fences that work progressively rather than as a final single stop. They could be small, low and round in shape so as not to present any angles from any direction of impact.

Have they said what caused it yet? When watching I couldn't figure out if Zarco slowed down after overtaking or if Frankie was simply later on the brakes.

Telemetry released for Zarcos bike suggests he braked later going in to the corner on that lap than previous. Suggesting he had not impeded Morbideli.

In my opinion FWIW its racing and that was a racing incident. As spectacular and potentially cataclysmic the aftermath was/could have been - These things happen and thankfully on this occasion everyone got away with it.
