    13 hours round-trip and job's done.

Heaps of roadworks around Birmingham plus another 27 mile stretch up north. Crap weather through the Border so didn't have to impress any guards!!

The bike is ace and as presented in adverts. (I'd previously done the DVLA checks so knew the mileage of 6,000-odd was genuine.) Remarkably, the way the owner had it set up was like sitting on my Blade. Some good innovations for a 2007: the MV has adjustable footpegs and adjustable seat. I guess if the Italian homies OD on pizza one evening they just re-set the riding position before blasting home along the cobblestones.

So I did the deal and will arrange transport on Monday. Paid 7,500. Some will say it's overpriced, and to a degree it might be. But it is pristine and will make great decor in my lounge room. Already got the MV Genuine Accessory cover in the washing machine!!

Only slightly jealous, not really much at all. :D

Congrats. The only person you need to justify your purchase to is you. Now only if you had a nice helmet to go with it; I'm sure I saw one somewhere!

Looking forward to seeing some photos when you get it.

I think that helmet you saw, DF, will be up there with the HRC Arai - 5-600 quid's worth. I did look, but MV website puts no prices on their merchandise.
I could go for red carbon though.:):)

Job done indeed Nigel......i'm a little bit jealous because I have seen the pics and it really does look pristine.

Will definitely look good on display in the lounge but you have to ride it once in a while too!

Who's transporting it back home for you??

Tentatively: https://www.anyvan.com/vehicle-delivery/motorcycle-delivery I'd gladly accept a recommendation from you or anyone else. We are talking Glasgow to Bidford-on-Avon, a round trip of 320 miles.

I will talk to them in person tomorrow. Obvious concern in this situation is the care of the staff doing the tying down and carting. Hoping to finalise early in the week. Current owner has to retrieve personal plates and get MOT. Scored a nice MV cover out of the deal also!

Yep, I will ride it, but I think it will be only make 'guest appearances'!!

Yep.....I'd be concerned about anyone firstly getting the bike onto the van safely and strapping it down without creating rub marks during the journey. If they've got experience of transporting bikes then I think it'll be OK but you wouldn't want any 'first timers'

Luckily for you the present owner is obviously as OCD as you are and will no doubt supervise the loading and securing of the bike at his end!

Sounds fantastic and definitely a future classic already! this will only go one way with its value if looked after and cared for correctly. It was worth sticking out for the right bike even if it was at a slight premium. Would be great to see some pictures Nigel????

Oh, sh*t - sorry for the insult!! I think I've been in too much of an 'MV' mode to discern the difference!

Funny you should say that. I was originally looking at the 2017 SP and my boy said no way to a bike with a single seat. To be honest I think I'd miss the occasional rides with the little fella on the back if I had gone down that route.
