Definitely true. Happened with me with the VF, but I suspected it - especially as there wasn't a matching sticker on the opposite side of the fairing. Some sellers must think we're damn idiots!!

My trusty kit of RS paints ( http://www.rsbikepaint.com/ ) soon fixed the chip.

I sold my 09 over 3 years ago as a part ex for £5k and it was similar mileage with standard bodywork and original zorst with a carbon sleeve and wheels had been powder coated along with the footrests and hangers and Motografix fairing kit.
For me the matt black does nothing. Much prefer the original bike with the option of purchasing the aftermarket fairings......and I’d promptly leave them there! Nice zorst tho. Reckon it’ll go for the price tho. Just need someone looking for one locally.

That truly shows the effect of good black work. Pillion pegs and footrests come up brilliant, as does my fave OCD piece - the black inner number plate!:)

I'll be selling, no matter what. Just a matter of matching the price to the marketplace. Of course, in some cases that will mean taking a bit of a hit.

I guess what truly matters is the objective of the sale: a sale for a purpose, or a sale for the sake of selling.

I bought my 09 Respol blade for £5400 with 8000 miles on the clock with a Yoshi R77 can, so I think your bike is fairly priced. The problem is the volume of bikes on the market. There is no such thing as a quick bike sale anymore. You just have to be patient. If you know the price is right you may just have to wait for someone to have the funds or the inclination. Advertise it in as many places as you can. I once put a Ducati Monster S4 on MCN that sat there for 3-months. I put it on eBay, it sat there another 3-months then out of the blue, a fella flew over from Sweden to buy it - paid cash and rode off into the sunset !!!

Heaps of competition on there at the mo. Seems to be only cheapies and 'one offs' selling.

Contemptuous £5,000 offer for the 2011, and a viewer of the 2004 who said it wasn't 'pristine' enough for him. WTF?

Just look at these two detail pics and tell me how I can get it to a pristine standard. I've even plugged the pillion mount holes with plastic buttons!

I purposely left the price high to keep the 'dreamers' away, but it clearly hasn't worked. Will review price if I relist.:)

    You still got that?
I thought it was a real good bike BEFORE you refreshed it. Surely it's worth a grand to someone?

Stupid offers only Im afraid. Doesn’t help I can only offer it for sale for the 13 days I’m home every trip. Lost a few interested parties through being away.

Not bothered, still use it occasionally.

Good luck to anyone finding a more pristine RR4 than that! Massive dreamer, you're quite right.

That looks better. I would make a few changes to your listing still, which are:

    1. There is no picture of the private plate so I have no idea what it is. It is a selling point, so put a picture up

    2. Remove the part about a minor service being 'probably due'. It is a negative, potential buyers can view the history/discuss when looking at the bike in person.

    3. Put the listing as a buy it now £4900 with a best offer. You may then get offers at £4600 which is your current starting price. Buyers need to feel they are getting a bargain

    4. Remove the part about the V5 saying Black and send the V5 off to get changed back to OEM. In my opinion you should never have changed it to Black with DVLA as now it will show as a colour change on any HPI check. You will now have to explain that to any potential buyers and the colour change recorded MAY put some people off.

    5. Add more pictures of the bike, you can add up to 12 for free I believe so get lots up as it helps.

    Just my thoughts

Hope you put some tank badges on it. With greatest respect, that's an immediate turnoff:(.
