Hi guys, been a long term lurker, looking for a HRC blade, but couldn't find the "one", so bought this! Only had it a week and bored already.......she desperately needs a new pipes and can but there doesn't seem to be any on the bay and the Gixer forums aren't as helpful as this one.

. Pretty little thing isn't she?

Feck me, what's that can, is it a modified K5/6 one?
I like the Gixers, what model is that K7/8?

By the looks of things, the best (cheapest) solution is to buy some second hand k8 down popes, cut the cat off and the fit a k6/7 can..... Anyone done this?

Trouble is, there's none on the bay or any of the forums so looks Like I'll be riding in stealth mode for a while lol

Well guys, done 1000 miles on the Gixer and really not bonding with her.....so if you know anyone whose looking for a standard low mileage (7k) 750, let me know. I should have bought what I really wanted.....a Blade! :-(

The bike is absolutely immaculate and nothing at all wrong with it. I have limited riding skills and where with my CBR600, I just had to move my body weight over and away she went round the corner with relative ease. The Gixer on the other hand is a different beast. You really need to steer the bloody thing....and make her turn with the throttle.

Did 200miles last weekend and to be fair, feel a bit more comfortable on her.......but still have that desire to own a blade.

The Gixer is an ace handling bike, and the 750 almost identical to the 600

Before you sell it invest in a pair of tyres, check all the suspension settings / get it set up for you and you may find its transformed.

A well ridden 750 is just as fast a litre bike on the road most of the time - it just needs a bit more work on the gearbox at times.

Hi guys, thank you for the advice. @allblade, I'll take your advice re tyres, the back is badly squared off (the former owner only used the bike to commute to the TT once per year, then parked it up), hence the reason the bike has only done 6k.
The bike currently has Bridgestone battlax B023's on, they don't seem to get very warm, especially when compared to the Dunlop Sportsmarts which were on my CBR600.

Definitely get those tyres changed for something more appropriate, Metzeler racetec would be a good choice. You WILL notice the difference.

Bt-023 work perfectly on those bikes when new and not square, or put on what you had on the cbr600

I've got both the GSXR and Blade in my garage .., they handle very similar.

You have a tyre / suspension issue.

Had 016's on my old R1 and didn't get on with them at all. Found them slow to turn and had little confidence in the front especially. Oh and they did square off too quickly for my liking. Changed them to pirelli rosso corsa and it felt like a different bike.

K7 headers fit straight on. They can be picked up for around 50 quid.
The cat was on the exhaust on the K6 K7.

On Facebook 'GSXR Owners UK' is a good source of stuff.
