Well at 07.00 hrs this morning I thought right let's do it , So do all my jobs at home an off to oulton I go , I arrive at 09.50 hrs and ask Barry is there any room in novice , To my horror he says yes Steve we can fit you in , So I pay my fee , noise test , and get my wrist band , I've missed the briefing and 3 sighting laps , So have my own mini brief and I'm ready to go , The sun is beating down , its so hot , I'm nervous , I'm sweating helmet off and time for a quick smoke to calm my nerves , Then I here group one please .......... Just has I'm about to get on my bike I'm asked to follow the instructor as I've missed the sighting laps , but only for 2 laps , Away we go and the instructor is going steady and I'm with him all the way, Then he waves me past and he's behind me , I can hear him , Come to shell oils and (2) twats come right underneath me , (f**k ) Just has I'm ready too tip it in , ( there going much faster than me ) It was a bit of a fright but that's what it's all about I suppose , Came in after the session and parked up , Bit of a chat with what I'm doing wrong /right and I can't believe It's my turn back on track again , Now there was no knee down , elbow , just me having a go instead of pictures all the time , and it was a great great day , Need to relax more , bit more corner speed , and use all of the track , ( so I was told ) , my time there was great , My only moan would be if your a fast group rider you don't look good in novice You look a t**t , .
So did you enjoy it? Fully agree with the fast riders in novices comment, it's one thing keeping me off a normal trackday.

But UK roads are full of idiots, does that keep you off the roads? Yes there are some idiots in all groups, but you takes your chance, just like on the roads

If some idiot collects me on the road then they pay to fix my bike. If some idiot collects me on a track then I have to pay to fix my bike. Also on the road I don't pin the throttle on the exit*, do emergency stops at every corner, or try to scrape my sliders. I do however do life savers and shoulder checks, and so would hopefully see the idiot trying to stuff me in the corner * to be honest I don't really ever do that lol

Sorry no pictures , The photographer and myself Hmmmm don't get on , ( due to the competition ) And I'm not going to pay £30 for them , Be doing another one when giv is ready , And hopefully Garyb can come and take a few pics .
Great day for you Barney and I'm so glad you enjoyed it buddy, as said its difficult when your doing this on your pride and joy which happens to cost a fortune. Your not always going to have complete dickheads in the novice group, there weren't any when i did my first track day... You are always good enough to take pictures for us when we do track days so i managed to grab this one of you, putting my life in danger but believe it was worth it.. Its not the best picture I've ever taken and i only took it when you were doing your sighting lap.. That said you need to concentrate more on where you going and less on me taking the picture....
Well barney I thought you were a good photographer! A decent one would of got a few selfies on the way round So so disapointed
