With the battery misbehaving I thought it a good opportunity to give her a good clean and strip down; been meaning to clear out any crud around the front sprocket for a while but haven't had the time given what a barstool it is to access! Gone are the days when accessing the front sprocket is a 5 minute job it would seem! So, mission accomplished however it took some persuasion to the sprocket cover off and so I didn't see where this pipe was routed. I'm guessing it wasn't actually connected to nothing and is a vent of some description?
There is usually a second pipe close by, one pipe is the fuel overflow from the fuel cap area. The second is the fuel tank breather pipe which allows air into the tank as the fuel volume goes down inside the tank. Some bikes also have a coolant overflow pipe that can hand down in the same area too.
This has probably become unattached when under the tank . You need to lift tank there will be a plastic t piece back on to this and lower tank and also slowly help this pipe back down .
Thanks guys. So does that mean it's not meant to be that low if you think it has become detached? I'll probably strip it down a bit more and investigate. Being new to the Blade coming over from the dark side I'm still getting used to how Honda put things together!
Is this not the overflow pipe that slots in hole of bottom fairing. Maybe wrong but looks like from photo you have removed lower cowl and the two pipes pop through the hole in lower cowl.....
The thicker pipe, the one I am unsure of, isn't long enough to reach the lower cowl. It will only come down as far as midpoint of the sprocket cover; there is a narrow breather pipe in view at the bottom as well as 2 electrical cables that did indeed come through the lower cowl
