Morning, seems the bots have been super keen over the weekend? As it seems the previous Mods aren't interested, does anyone know, or have friends that can create a new forum, similar to this, and try and port across the important info? At least that way, its run correctly? Just a thought.
I did think the same but not sure how much use it would be in this day and age when most stuff is now on various social media. Edit: Should have also said that with recent Law changes the owner can be held responsible for the content on a site.
After @Trackit posting that he’d been in touch with Rob two weeks ago and I should expect contact from him soon regarding being an admin, I’ve somewhat given up that anything will happen
Had a play after work in case it doesn't get resolved soon http://www.1000rr.uk/ Nothing there yet and just on a free hosting site. Was looking at XenForo Cloud but that is more than I can afford at the moment.
I wouldn't rush to get on it. I only did it to see how realistic for me to do so it will be a play thing for a while.
Right this site is getting really silly now. I am going to start setting up an alternative, but it will be in my spare time and I'll be learning as I go so will be a little while yet. Hopefully Rob comes on here and sets up some Mods as he promised and I'll chalk it up as a learning exercise.
You should now be able to sign up if you want. Not sure I have email working though it so don't expect notification emails such as activation and password resets. It's quite restrictive for new users at the moment, but if you PM me your Usename on both sites I'll take you out of the new users group. Already done that for the 2 accounts I recognised. Will do my best to get it working well but bear with me and don't be surprised if some stuff doesn't work initially.
I have moved it to a paid for hosting site, the free one just wasn't working out. Hopefully everything has gone across but please let me know if your password got messed up in the move
Sad that all of the history here can’t be migrated but this forum is not viable without an admin. I’ve registered
You're not the only one who thinks that as I googled some of the words used in the subject of one of their spam posts earlier to find out who they are. The search came back with a plethora of forums going through the same problems, with many members saying they're leaving the forums. So it looks like ours is another casualty of an unscrupulous spammy organisation fraudulently boosting their own profile/agenda. To add to that, the posts and groups are in various languages, so this thing is global.
I just don’t get why @Rob hasn’t been back and sorted an admin after being contacted by me (via the triumph forum admin) a couple of times and @Trackit the other week
Was a bit glitchy trying to register 2 days ago. Tried again today and it’s smooth as silk. Top job @Barstewardsquad
Thanks @Broadie it does seem a lot happier on the new platform. I've activated your account, and also one for bradrr but not sure it that is @bradt so they are still set as a new user.
Fingers crossed email is now working. Account activation still requires manual approval to stop spammers getting on.
@Manofsteel if you click on the forgot password link it should email you a link to reset it. If it doesn't work send me a PM on here
