Hello everyone! I've recently converted a Standard 2018 SP1 to a track bike (changed bodywork basically). I'm not mechanically minded so may ask a few stupid questions so please bare with me.....But i'm keen to lean on others knowledge and experience in my quest to turn my SP1 into the best Trackday (not race) bike it could be. Apologies now if i ask questions that my have been covered before but i'll do my best to sift through previous post's to get my answers. Looking forward to being enlightened!! This is my new toy that needs your help! Cheers!
The SP is pretty much a track ready superbike. There's not alot you need to do to it that doesn't look like you've already done to it. Looks like youve done all the obvious mods. It's got ohlins suspension, brembo brakes, multiple rider modes and settings. Quickshifter and auto blipper! Not alot more you need to do other than ride it and enjoy it!!
Hi I got the bike as a Cat b write off so the only option was to track it. The bike is a standard SP1 apart from the bits i had to replace: Motoholders top fairing bracket Tom Neaves old BSB Superstock race bodywork (made by Carbonin) Marchesini SP2 wheels and discs Samco hoses (didn't need replacing but a bit of bling) GB engine covers. I've sold most of the good original bodywork off but still have a few pieces left on ebay. I've done a couple of trackdays and had a couple of teething troubles (probably down to Pilot error) so hopefully in time i can make some improvements and share my results with you. cheers
Wow.. sounds like you know what you are doing already. Nice job getting hold of a Cat B bike for track days. I would do the same.. but I think I'll start off next year with a CBR600RR. Keeping the Blade as a road bike.
