Hi, I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself.
I have just bought a 1000 RR-7 in genuine repsol colours and it is a bit run down, so could do with some advice and assistance where possible.
I live in Bordon, Hampshire and there are some great meet up points near me - used to be the Lord Derby, Boxhill, Loomeys cafe and Alton cafe.
Give me a shout if you ever want to head to one of these.
    Cheers,
    Ross

Here you go - gave it once over yesterday and checked everything before taking her out... Needs some work on the left hand fairing which is a bit damaged. Might put a wanted sign up! :)

Yes they are carbon protectors and yes taken a look underneath and they seem fine to me... I suppose it is run down to my standards as there are few things i would like to change, for example, new tail tidy, carbon heat shield etc.
Can you anyone advise on what to buy when changing the underseat sheild? There is currently a bit of black plastic sticking out just above the exhaust and it looks rubbish!

Most people just remove all of the heat shield parts from 04-07 models.

So the black plastic part that surrounds the exhust just remove it? will it create any problems burning if i take it off?? I have seen one with a chrome shell around it...
Also any suggestions on where i can get parts from to service it myself? ebay??

    Now who's grooming, Matt.

Welcome Ross. Whatever you're thinking of doing to your bike you'll get plenty of advice and opinions, here.

Of course, they'll all be different, but...

    Cheers

    Ken

Post this in a forum other than New Members and all the 04-07 owners will probably comment.
I used to have an 06 and I removed the part you're talking about with no heat issues (although I was running a Ttitanium can).
I used to get OE parts from David Silver Spares online, but they're not allowed to sell modern parts any more :(
