I'm so tempted to go and buy this bike and re live 2008.... That r6 was the best I've ever owned and the thought of going big bike baiting again is sooooooo exciting.
It was supposed to be released at the Intermot Cologne bike show, but Yamaha put the release date back. As friends son does BSB 600 Supersport he wanted to see it in the flesh to see if it's worth ordering two as race bikes for next season. May go to Milan show now.
I've had 2 0f the current models over the last 8 years and have a massive soft spot for the R6! One of mine was a dedicated track bike and the other fast road bike that I took down to Valencia, cant wait for the new one as I could be seriously tempted to jump ship from the litre bikes ...... 16500 Redline and massive corner speed has me grinning like a Cheshire Cat
Front end looks awesome and bike looks great but tail unit looks a bit like an afterthought the R1 tail looks better
I had one back in 1999 .....may have been 2000 was like a 250... Front end was a hedge finder new one does look good...
That R6 looks awesome. I like the blue, the missus likes the white and green. I have never been a huge fan of Yamahas in recent years, especially the R1. But these appeal. Think a wee test ride will be in order. Probably keep my blade and get one of these too.
Reckon you'd be buying 1 after a test ride mate. Have to say Yamaha is the better built bike than the Honda these days. Build quality is top drawer.
Should do though, they have a newer bike than the current blades. Reckon new blade will up the game on Yamaha, as well as the others. But agree, reckon we will get an R6, as the wife seems smitten on it. Tho she would never want to get rid of the blade I have just now. Pic in the other thread was her warming it up in the drive before heading out and about while I was at work.
The new one is a stunner. Here's my BIL's which he has owned since 99. He had 10 years out from bikes and left it in the garage and forgot about it, there's 3800 miles from new on it!
