    Hi all,

yup, ive now owned the RR5 for a week, and im a very happy chap!

From what i've read about this shape it's pretty reliable, other than the odd stator giving up.

So is there any mods i should be getting stuck into? The suspension set up is a little fierce at present, I'd like to dial in a little bit of soft in front and rear. But otherwise i totally happy with the bike.

    Great forum btw

Well Darryl mate, you have just opened the flood gates. Before long the mod monsters will smell fresh blood and begin to circle.

Good luck, your credit card may never be seen again...

    Thanks Kpone - im prepared!!
Bubba - the heat shield was off when i bought it and the shield is still in the boxe of bits the previous owner gave me. I quite like looking at the titanium pipe but havent tried the shield on to compare it yet. It's frickin good lookin machine with or with out eh!?

I'd be interested in sprocket sizes - is it worth coming down a tooth on the drive sprocket to sacrifice top end for even more low-end shove?

I'm already identifying some of the individuals on this fine forum-nation lol

But a bike isnt just for riding i guess, it's nice to make some mods and make it a little more personal. Got to watch the budget though eh ;)

Add a few BHP with some black paint.

In the words of Jezza, you need some POWERcommander. With an aftermarket exhaust and K&N air filter thats your air/fuel mods done.

Suspension upgrades are next, unless you're hitting the track on a weekly basis then upgrading the internals and oil should do the trick.

I keep seeing references to getting flap mod - but haven't found what it actually is?

Can someone help the new guy?

OK - Youtube is your friend!!

I see it's an air intake restricter that Honda implemented for noise compliance - you find the vacuum pipe that drives it and remove and block. Right?
As a result engine breathes better at lower rev range? Better get that sorted.

Nice one, I have an RR5 too and love it. I went up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket as it does help with pulling away at low speeds. Other things I have done: fitted K&N airfilters, fitter a power commander, had it set up on the dyno, done the flapper mod, removed the rear foot pegs, fitted the HRC rear brake reservoir kit, MRA double bubble screen and short Pazzo levers. It has been a truly awesome bike and rides brilliantly. Love it, but am sadly thinking of selling to fund my racing this year.
