Hello all Just purchased a 2004 CBR1000rr a few weeks back, and despite its age the bike has less than 7K miles on it. Yes that's right no typo on the digits. It is literally like a new bike with an old school engine and electronics (or should I say no electronics) Currently the bike shifts and move like it should and I am very happy with it. In the meantime, need some advice on after market slip on exhaust.... I am considering to replace the stock exhaust with the Yoshimura RS5 but as I understand this is a race exhaust and will face MOT failure legally.. How did you guys overcome this if you have this installed? Thank you for any advice in advance. Branjos
Yes I was very fortunate to have found the bike. It is in pristine condition and very proud to own it.
Welcome! For exhaust you need to find a nice but slightly deaf MOT tester who can't read the "not for road use" bit on the can.
Hello and welcome , there are loads of RS5 systems out there and some understanding MOT testers , there not the loudest exaust out there , should be ok. Nice bike
Welcome to the Forum, As for Exhausts.... The RS5 end can is lovely, also a scorpion too is nice. As for the MOT, most testers will pass you with a noisy exhaust and will only give you an advisory on the MOT test.
Welcome to the forum and well done on the bike, my favourite model and colour scheme is the RR4! Re the exhaust, choose carefully as some can look utterly shite and rarely achieve the good looks of the standard exhaust! Yoshi RS5 is no doubt the best option and it does come with a removable baffle.......I've just spotted one on ebay! Ps if you ever decide to sell this bike I will 100% have it off you
Thank you PauloHRC. Loving my bike, despite the old age, it is still catching quite a lot of attention with the pristine OEM livery and condition. Thanks for endorsing the Yoshi RS5. After much consideration, I have decided to stay with the stock exhaust for now. But Yoshi RS5 will be the top of my choice.
