This is my first post ! So big hello to everyone! I ride 929 and a f3. And a super moto. And this year I’m after buying something abit newer maybe something around the 2012 model so thought I would join and find out what you guys think?
Hi and welcome to the forum. Biased I know, but love my 2016 Black Edition. Good luck hunting one down and do your homework on ABS before you commit.
Welcome Tony, love the 929. Reminds me of my old one with clear indicators. Go for a 2014 or newer if you can. The heads were gas flowed and had a narrower exhaust bore and map to improve torque over the 2012-13. Avoid abs if you can. Bikes from 17 onwards have elctronic aids. https://hondanews.eu/gb/en/media/pressreleases/35100/2014-honda-cbr1000rr-fireblade
Thanks everyone! A quick question why avoid ABS. And I’m not really after riding aids ! So I’m now thinking about or around the 2015 mark ! And thanks again for all the good info!
Short answer is....it randomly fails....is the weight of a hippo and you'll have to remortgage your house getting it fixed....only for it to fail again.....that's if you've not bashed your head in with frustration. There's plenty of us on here over the years certainly have There's quite a few threads on the issue on here and many more on the web
I done a lot of reading last night about abs /. Recalls / tyres people chose /. Charging problems ? I had to stop reading or I would never buy a new bike and keep the money in my pocket and be happy with the 929. ? I would be so gutted to spend £7000/8000 on a bike and have problems ? But I still love the look of this model ! I’ve seen this one on eBay one owner, 10,000 miles FSH looks to be standard so not been messed with! ( yet ) it’s a 2010 with no abs ? They want £6450 for it I would be hopeing to get it around the £6000 for cash considering it’s a bike shop ? WHAT DO I DO ?
Police man ! Are you a tax man. ? Lol. I’m a plasterer when I can be bothered! Is that what you meant when you asked what I do ?
You asked ' what do I do ' in relation to that blade you pictured....and @Selmer50mark was saying Just do it .....he's from Lancashire so takes a bit of understanding
Do it - if you know the registration, put it on here and maybe someone will recognises it and can provide some history
