Story still needs to be verified by DVLA but......... I bought it from a private seller 3 weeks ago - absolutely as new with just 1700 miles on her. Excellent news on the mileage but it had 4 owners on it! Previous owner said something about Honda pre-registering it as it's on a 60 plate - registered December 2010 but it's a 2011 model (frame number confirms) Anyway, it was so mint and a good price so I chucked it in the van with a big smile on my face and set off home. I did some digging and spoke to the guy who's name was in the service book as doing the PDI, first service at 240 miles (in October 2011) and second service at 915 miles (in April 2012) - he runs a tuning shop in Grimsby. So the story goes - 1st Owner - Honda - the bike was pre-registered as it "was" going to be the launch bike - the one that all the magazines get to thrash around - as I said, it's a 2011 model - frame number is number 11 also anyhoo - Honda owed some sponsorship to PTR Racing so the bike was given to PTR as part of the deal 2nd Owner - Simon Buckmaster - PTR Racing and ex Motogp rider (not very successful) The bike then sat around in the workshop in Grimsby as an ornament - briefly loaned to the MD of Evotech - who kindly fitted the tail tidy to it before returning it. At this time - the bike was still gathering dust so Simon sold it to its 3rd owner... 3rd Owner - Dave McKenzie - Dave runs a scaffolding company in Grimsby and was/is a sponsor for Gary Johnson in the IOM TT. He needed a bike for a project but in the end, he never used it either so it stayed as an ornament back in the workshop. April 2012 and Dave decides to sell it and Joe Public buys it - with just over 900 miles on the clock 4th Owner - Joe public So Joe then pampers it and polishes it more than he rides it and does just 800 miles in 2 years before he sells it to fund a Ducati Then I step in lol Like I said - I still need to confirm with the DVLA but the guy I spoke to who did all the servicing knew everything about it All in all it still seems like a god buy even with "all" the previous owners......
Welcome to the forum mate. Make sure the one that puts some miles on that baby, she needs a good thrashing after being cooped up!
Welcome buddy... Nice bike, and yes they are the fastest for motogp, but you'll find the road versions are made quite a bit slower than say red or black blades as repsol did a deal with honda to have them restricted so people could read their logo easier and it wasn't just a blur Honda called the red ones "winning red" for a reason, but i tend not to mention it too much as it does upset people on here lol...
....I didn't now that lol Thanks for all the welcomes guys - looking forward to a few rideouts and meets if the weather holds out.......shhhhhh...
