was all set up to test ride the mv agusta rivals this morning .. been watching online weather forecast all week .. nice dry and 12 degrees forecast.

just been woken up by rain on the window ,and just to cement me not being able to test it .. the hot water part of the home heating system has just packed up ,and being a mechanic i need to have hot water to get as shower.

    boll**s

Well I got my go on an mv rivale today .
Gave it a round trip from barnsley over to glossop and on snake pass.
It sounds really nice with the triple growl ,would sound ace with free flowing exhaust, i found that i was perched on top of the bike and that the front end felt a bit vague, all the power seems
quite high up the rev range ,got front wheel up a couple of times without trying (by accident ,as i cannot wheelie for crap.)
To say the suspension has 6 inches of travel front and rear it didn't move as much as i was expecting it to and seemed like a naked bike set up rather than the supermotard it is supposed to be.

Anyway .. gave it back as i just hadn't gelled with it , went across to bradford to try a ducati hyperstrada ,lot more supple suspension , better riding position plus a small screen to take away some wind blast so that i wasn't
having to gurn to keep my helmet in place . .the v twin gave its power low down which suits the supermotard better , the bike turned faster too and felt more nimble so i bought it.

Keeping the blade as that is good for more open roads such as around the york area , but the ducati suits the smaller twisty back roads around hawes.

    Job done ...NEXT!

Where was that from Steve, Bennetts? Paul and Russ are a couple of good lads, but their prices aren't the best ;)

yep can't fault them really, gave me the bike for as long as i needed, it is a newly released bike so discounts would probably be a bit rare for now ,but give it a year and the ex demos will probably be £1500 to £2000 less than new.

i got the ducati which is 8 months old and only has 1300 miles for nearly 3 grand less than a new one, and to top it off it is not an ex demo, it was traded in by somebody that wanted a multistrada to go touring on and had bought the wrong bike for his needs.

waiting for the heated grips fitting at the dealers ,then i am going to get it home and remove the wheels to paint them silver ,as i don't like bikes (or cars for that matter)with black wheels ,its just a personal thing.
i test rode their demo as it was easier to get out of the showroom ,mine is buried in a sea of red ducatis ,so i couldn't get piccies.
hopefully might be able to collect it wednesday depending on how busy i am at work.
