evening all been lurking for a few weeks.. good to see a uk 1000rr site :victory: after a string of zx6r's h34r: f3 -destroyed and sold j1 -crashed repaired and sold a1 -track bike, sold due to j1 crash b1 - stolen  p7 - stolen  brought a 1000rr4 :dance3: :amen: not many mods : :close_tema: 2009 lcr rep fairings, dark fabbri db screen, arrows race can, flapper mod, r&g'd up, -1 on the front sprocket, +3 on the back, 520 pitch afam chain and sprockets, braided lines off to see if i've got any pictures anywhere i can post :bolt:
Thats a pretty big gearing change , must be a wheely machine lol.. iv been told -1 front a +2 rear knocks it out 10 - 15 MPH, How does yours feel? or do you have a speedo healer fitted. I was gonna gear mine but fitting the speedo healer put me off
makes it a little lively .. can't compare it to standard gearing, as the bike had this gearing when i brought it.. and when i changed the chain and sprockets i kept the same gearing as i liked it my top speed is only just over 150 according to Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator (useful site for gearing) so the gearing has knocked about 20 mph off the top end .. but improved the acceleration a fair bit
Welcome to the forum mate. Got that gearing on my rrw SF, Don,t care about top end and acceleration is awesome. Skims front wheel in 3 gears.
with lcr fairing (only picture i can find on my computer... will dig out a daytime picture and post it up)
I have a set of RR4-7 headers in the garage. If you fancy trying a system with the cat removed gimme a shout. It makes it a lot more responsive on the throttle!
more responsive...that is the last thing i need .. did a rywb day (it was a test and tune day at north wield airfield) on sunday... managed a 10.8 @ 136 mph with a nasty head/crosswind... my gearing really didn't help ... couldn't keep the front down.. as so soon as the front left the ground the wind had me.. (tried shortshifting but it didn't help) anyone who hasn't done a rywb day.. it just like trackdays... highly addictive.. highly recommended
