So, as some may know i broke my leg 3 months back in Italy..still got the frame on my leg..hopefully this will be off in Jan..

I would think I am now about 80% like normal..by that I mean not bed bound and feeling like shit, and able to get around..lol

I bought this from a guy on the forum..but via his eBay sale maybe 2 months back (amazing how much time iv been spending on eBay in the last 3 months lol)

Managed to get around to opening the box today...and daam this thing looks complicated...so hoping it works!!

Anyone got any advice on what I have to do with all these connecters? (Did pm the guy I bought them from by no reply (maybe not on this site anymore?)

Match it up to the bike first and see what it looks like

Do you know who the manufacturer/supplier of the kit is? Maybe some info on their website.

The HID bit is easy enough as the blue & red wires plug into the ballasts, which in turn will be fed off your headlight loom.

The smaller wires for the Halo's look complicated though, although I would imagine that they just connect to the side light wiring?

Wondring how the lights will look as you won't be able to see the full light as its blocked out...and hoping they are not too bright as in unusable...as this may distract other motorists..

Also are these ok for road use? I think I read HID are ilegle as they don't self level? Anyone know?

No, but I do have normal HID's and asked the same question last year to my MOT tester. He said no problem in principal and to just bring it down for him to check.

It's daft that fitting a HID is deemed dodgy, yet the GS riders go round lit up lit a xmas tree with touratechs and mainbeam in permanent retina burning mode.

Fitting HIDs myself, albeit not a complete new headlight unit over the christmas period so can also let you know in March ;)

I have had HiD's fitted for the past few years, never any issues at MOT time and these are fitted to a '94 bike as well as the blade.

HID lights are legal and always have been............but the mot rules states that is if a vehicle has self levelling lights fitted they must work (pretty same with every light on a vehicle if its fitted it must be operational!)

If the vehicle does not have self leveling fitted ie switchgear and accessories then it can not be tested.

However the beam pattern must be correct and newer bike models have a flat beam pattern with no verge flick to limit blinding drivers as the bike leans and it also means beam deflectors are not required when traveling abroad like cars do.

Some cheaper early models of HID kits did not replicate a beam pattern correctly and just gave out a round beam like a torch, these kits seemed to be missing a metal guard from the front of the bulb so light was beamed straight outwards where as bulbs with the metal guards restricted the light so the only light being beamed out the headlight was going through the stock lights refractive pattern ribs allowing for correct light setup which meets MOT standards.

As far as the angel light rings go with MOT check they must be white or the bike must have another white side light bulb in use and the non-white angel rings should not be illuminated along with normal lights ie must be seperatly switched so they can be turned off when riding on the road while sidelights and/or dip beam is in operation.

It really doesn't need to be complicated, just snip all the wires off with pliers and the job won't look half as bad;)

Is this any use to you? You may need to stare at it for quite a while before it starts to make sense. I know I did. :D

Great diagram Nikco, does that wiring setup get both lights lit at the same time unlike the blade is standard? Just ordered some for myself for Christmas

Think the wiring must be pretty standard Sam, inverters, ballast shit load of wires lol

One thing I did notice in Nicko's diagram was the switch, dont think my kit has this so will buy one. Crazy amout of wires with these conversions does put me off.. I hate wires showing so going to be a mission to hide them all!!
