Hey guys had an absolute nightmare with my bike today. My datatool alarm wouldnt stop going off and literally drained my battery. Newbie problem....is their a better way to connect my trickle charger? I've got so many power blocks under my seat for indicators, quick shifter etc etc I'm not sure which one to connect to rather than using the battery pinchers. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks
Aren't you using the lead that came with the Optimate? It looks like you are in the pic with the white connector. There is no better way. Just leave it plugged in and turned on when the bike's not in use.
Yeah I'm using the red/black battery pinchers but I thought you maybe able to click into a power block. It takes a few hours for it to gain a 'good' charge thought their maybe a better way. Bloody nightmare lol!
Get a Tamiya connector (the white bit) and make a lead that goes directly to the battery with some ring connectors. Or alternatively buy a ready made one like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Weatherpro...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B07KD4J8W1
Like Nigel says, there should be a lead that came with the optimate, that you fit to the battery https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Optimate...of-Eyelet-Lead-with-Rubber-Cover/264281512139. Note there are 2 types of connector so make sure you get the right lead. You can then route the connector to somewhere where it is convenient to access - e.g. under the seat cowl. Cheers, Ian
Great idea cheers! Yes the optimate lead splits leaving a white block. Fingers crossed this should connect to this lead you've sent! Cheers Jay
I route mine up so it’s under the seat cowl, broke it last night though! It’s so much neater and not seen hanging strapped to pegs etc
