I spray mine fully, scrub with chain brush and toothbrush, spray again to rinse any shite away then outside for a wash.

    Horrible messy job!

Inbetween proper cleans i tend to use a cloth semi soaked in wd40 to wipe the chain down then another cloth to help dry it up and relube and again wipe any excess away with a cloth.

One thing i would say is that ive been weary of getting paraffin on the wheels/paintwork in fear of it damaging them. Im not sure if this is possible but i couldnt find a definite answer on ebay so tend to be careful when spraying it on amd give the whole thing a good rinse afterwards.

Although I stand to be correct, you can't water paraffin down with water. Water and paraffin don't mix.

Paraffin or petrol.... either will work! Once you got the chain to the point of it being clean and grunge free it's pretty easy just to use some WD or GT on a rag or spray it on the chain as your rotating the wheel on the paddock stand and wipe off the excess with a rag! Mine gets done after every ride..... takes minutes

I've never cleaned a chain, so I'm not sure why most people do this.
I apply Wurth dry chain lube frequently and first chain and sprockets lasted 32,000 miles on my blade. Have never kept a previous bike until that mileage so never had to replace chain on any of them.
Looking forward to keeping the bike well past the 2nd chain change at 64,000 miles - it's such a brilliant bike, better than anything before and better than the 2017 Z1000SX I've got to ferry my good lady around on.1

IMO paraffin , white spirit are best in terms of price and effectiveness.
MAke sure you put enough elbow grease with the paraffin to get all the muck off, then wipe the surplus with old newspaper / kitchen cloth. Here, you have 2 options
go for a ride to dry off what's left of the white spirit, then use you chain lube or
spray the chain with something like muc off, brush and rinse then go for a ride to dry the water off (otherwise rust will start to show) followed by chain luge

like edderbyI use wurth dry lube at each tank full and the chain still requires cleaning but a lot less frequently

If your just wiping it down it's fine, I've used it for years and never had any detrimental issues with O ring contamination breaking down.
