    am I doing something wrong?
I keep knocking the piece of rubber that sits between the fairing and the tank off when I wash the bike on the right hand side but not on the left.
So I wonder if it is fitted wrong on the right?
What holds it on before I have to strip the fairings and have a look:(

Do you mean the rubber bit between the Air tube cover and frame or is there something else?

There's two small nodes on the end of the rubber that are supposed to fit into a slot on the air duct itself. It seems they might not be properly secured and that is why one falls out and the other doesn't.

Have the exact same, left side never moves, right side I am constantly pushing back into place. It's become a start up ritual at this point! Chain unlocked, disk lock off, rubber re-sealed, start the bike and off we go! LOL.
Like yours, the left side doesn't ever budge at all.

I had the same problem with my 2013 bike and used a small amount of silicone sealant to keep it in place, which worked a treat.

i don't think so. You can sort of feel the locating slot when fitting. I recall this from fitting the Chinese fairings so have recent experience of the problem. Plus one for a bead of silicone.;)

Trust me to be different it's the nearside one that always comes loose on my bike, try to clip it into place but just not secure, a small dab of Gorilla glue sorted it.

A bit of glue might not be the answer......yeah it'll stick it down, but the reason it's not fitting properly or sitting flush against the frame is because the air duct may not be slotted into the frame properly.

I would look deeper into this if I were you. I had this problem when I fitted my Chinese fairings. It was perfect before I started .....but on refitting the fairings it wouldn't sit flush. Jiggled and manipulated things and it popped in fine.

As the air ducts are fitted to the inside of the fairing......when you slot it into the frame it actually becomes a fixing point of the fairings so is quite important it's done properly.;)
