Just had my blade on the paddock stands; putting the wheel back on. I then started the engine and run it in first gear. I noticed when I gave it a quick Rev, like a wheeli rev , there was a clunking sound as if something was bumping into something else. Is this normal? I suppose if you rev a bike hard on padock stands it must move slightly .
In addition to what has been said, if the paddock stands uses 'cups' check to see if rear sprocket bolts/nuts are catching on the inside edge of cup
I wouldn't read too much into it, as the bike will sound different if the back wheel is not under load.....Its just like when you forget to put your earplugs in and the bike sounds rough
You are a genius. I have just tightend the chain somewhat more, now a movement of approx 25-30 mm. No more snatching. Mind you it was on about 30+ mm last time. Weird or what. I am going to invest in some Giles chain adjusters.
is that slack set with the bike on the floor ? because if you set it with the wheel off the floor it can go too tight when the weight of the bike goes back on the wheels, which can put stress on the gearbox output bearing.
