Dave Had a personal invite to view the RC213V at Goodwood last year, met the guy in charge of the project and one of the key development engineers. Fantastic bike but the price was outrageous for the power output and also paying the extra £30k or so to get up to a reasonable power figure invalidates the 2 year warranty. Makes the Desmosedici seem a bargain at £38k when I bought it new back in 2009. However if I won the lottery I would certainly buy one.
They seem to treat it the same as uncrating a CB500. Amazing bike but I prefer the painted one. The bare carbon fibre reminds me of that hideous carbon wrap from a few years back.
Need to be a lottery winner to buy and run one £138,000 fort bike and £15,000 fort performance pack. Oh and engine strip every 3000 miles and new Pistons fitted, which can only be done at hrc near Cadwell apparently. Mmmm and then the insurance cost . Oh dear
Buitiful bike, look close and you can see it's pure class, Honda have no budget on MGP, they spend whatever it takes to get a winning bike, a bike based on such a philosophy is never going to be cheap, sadly most of us me included will never have such money to buy such a bike, but Honda GP tech filters down into superbikes so the essence of GP runs in all Honda's, it may be low on power but so is the D16RR and when I rode one it did not seem too shabby, just 174bhp but one of if not the fastest production superbike ever made, wonder what this does top end stock? Green, why yes...like it, absolutely!
Thanks for posting the pics Stevie_D, I will be down there for a look! Is it their bike or have they got it in for a Customer?
Silly offer, do you mean the original purchase price........lol Would love one as an ornament to just stare at. The attention to detail is something else. However four times the price I paid for my Desmosedici is a bit rich. I know a few lads who have spent in excess of a million quid on a various cars including Porsche 918, LeFerrari, It's all relative Just hope my numbers come up on the lottery soon, I'll then have. HRC colour one and a plain carbon one.
Between 250&300k , words from the owners mouth while I was speaking to him . Rightly so they've all sold now u can't buy one , so you'd have to pay a kings ransom for one . That's if u wanted one badly and were loaded
They are dreaming, would have bought one myself when Honda were pushing me in that direction if I thought that there was that profit margin to flip one. However it has only cost Craig's motorcycles £69k to have it sitting there once they have reclaimed the VAT and tax on the bike (due to the taxation of bikes). It's probably worth that for the publicity they will get.
