Having finally got Brembos on the front I am now thinking about the rear shock. Not sure if I can stretch to an Ohlins and so was wondering if the shock from a newer blade (12-15) would be a straight swap. Thinking is it would be newer and hopefully better than the original one on my 07, whilst being cheap enough to pick up from people tracking their bikes.

Have a look at the kyle racing website, as he sells ohlins at much better prices than in the UK. Plus ohlins have good resale value.:D

Later shocks won't fit earlier models, well definetly not a straight swop think earlier shocks are longer

The bottom fixings on the shocks are different also! Would need a lot of modding to fit

Keep your eye on eBay, Ohlins shocks do come up from time to time, and depending on how long you are keeping the bike you will get your money back. Another option is Nitron, or a rebuild of your shock at MCT. That said, I had Ohlins on my 04, and did over 40k on it, you will not regret buying one! Be warned, it can be addictive, I ended up getting front forks as well!

Not really much point in upgrading the rear if you don't do the front as well. The front is more important to have for your ride anyway!

    This is what I understand.

The guy who set up my suspension said that the front is by far the most important thing to get right. The rear shock is very much a secondary consideration. The next upgrade I'll be doing is taking it to him for a fork revalve and some upgraded springs as, from what I've gleaned, most Honda sportbikes are overdamped and undersprung.

To answer your question though, he does also sell WP Suspension stuff. Including rear shocks. From what I know they're a little cheaper than the Ohlins stuff.

Front and rear were set up a couple of years ago, and the front fork oil and seals are less than 1,000 miles old. Front end will be done at some stage, but for now the rear shock is next on the list :)

I got mine from Kyle racing, you need to add £70 to the price, I've just got a import duty invoice, Boo :(

    Hi
I'm using Hyperpro and I can personally vote for them. It is as good as my older ohlins :)
Can be bought in Denmark :) and I know the guy selling them.
    Cheers
    /Danni
