Here is my Renntec grab rail. It definitely improves the pillion's safety and comfort. It's a well made, very strong piece of kit. It comes with all fittings and instructions and has hardly been used - it's been on my blade about 4 times in total I'd say. Still available. Should have pointed out that it definitely fits 2008 to 2011 models. Not sure if it would fit later models. Straight forward to fit, no modifications needed to bike, no panels to remove and easily fitted and removed. Attached by 6 bolts to threaded holes that are already in your bike.
