Came across this company called Cognito Moto when browsing project bikes the other day. They specialize in providing custom parts that allow one to, for example, fit modern suspension/brakes/electrics to retro-cool bikes. Would love to do a project to ground up restore a classic like a CB750 from the 70's era, or, if money is no object when I get round to doing something like this, a CBX1000, seeing as it's still one of the best sounding bikes ever made IMO. A few examples: The question to the gang is how do you feel about this kinda thing? Ugly and blasphemous, or trick and fascinating? Would you like to do a ground up build of anything like this, and if so, what would it be? (obviously I'm a Honda nutter - the the point of having Honda tats and clothing - but please consider the question directed at anything on two wheels..)
I really like them but you have to build something like this for yourself and it should be you that loves it otherwise you won't be motivated to finish it. I'd start with a cb250 so I could see if I enjoyed the process and was good enough to make a nice result before moving on to something more.
I want a panigale powered Grom https://www.autoevolution.com/news/...onda-grom-is-as-insane-as-it-gets-104732.html
Uh oh, might be getting a little obsessed with custom supercubs but how cool are these... ...it's a rhetorical question, the answer is 'very'
They are awesome, to have the concept and follow through on the build is such an amazing skill to have.
I’ve used a company called race component development (rcd) the guys name is Mark toon and he makes some stunning parts and builds incredible bikes, he’s made quite a few parts for me. https://instagram.com/racecomponentdevelopment?utm_medium=copy_link
