See you in a week or so. Tomorrow I am boarding this baby for a week of luxury and fun Be good and behave
Well, back in one piece no nasties this time other than a dammed cold and blocked snitch Had a great week. We had to stay a further night in Amsterdam because of the weather. Once we were committed to sailing there was no turning back, and at the lock (that allows us to enter the north sea) the wind was blowing at around 60 knots and the side thrusters aparently would have strucggled to hold us in position whilst in the lock (and there is not a lot of room as those who may have done that trip will testify). So we left 15 hours later as that was the first available slot they could get us into which is no big problem, hit the gas to get down to Le Harve and just as we approached the port the dockers went on strike (obviously planned the night before) and they even turned the cranes around so we could not berth. They cut their noses to spite their faces as it will have cost them a fortune in lost income, docking fees, local business and so on, but it saved me a fortune with no more shopping ashore to be done So a nice mini break nont the less, great food, great entertainmemt, nice cabin up on deck 14. Now I start planning for next year.... Pacific? or Far east? Decisions decisions.... This is the canal that goes all the way into Amsterdam. It is 12 miles from the lock into the city centre and takes just over 2 hours to transit the journey
