Hi First blade owner. Been riding since 1980 on all sorts, Stint as a dispatch rider in London, Now have an rr9 Xabs. Which I removed after sending it to Honda to replace the wheel bearings and an abs bleed £270 on its own. ABS had a fault code Honda suggested brake pads and pistons might fix the problem. £1000. this did include the bleed. My solution, with the help of some very useful posts on here thanks, remove the abs and fit braided hoses. Left the loom in and it all came out with no problems, although the fairing's a lot more fiddly than the older bikes I'm used to. Even managed to leave the exhaust in place. Now really enjoying the bike and will be taking a UK trip this summer.
Welcome Brett and you bring another success story of resolving (removing) ABS problems. £270 for a bleed is true to its word - bleeding owners dry. Of course I've read that it can be a 3 to 4 hour process, but surely some of that is 'resting' time and not all 'man hours'? Great that you're enjoying the bike now!
Cheers. The guys at Honda Bournemouth were great. Very helpful but stuck with dealership servicing costs. It is a big job. Exhaust off. and almost impossible without some sort of power bleeder. I thought my days of spanner twirling were over with this bike but apparently not.
