Had a go on this very bike. Yes the handling is sublime.
Also size wise it may be small off the bike, but was very comfy onboard.

Oh and that exhaust on that bike really is like god clearing his throat.

Your bike really looks amazing and lovin that exhaust too. Is the brembos and ohlins standard on the bike or aftermarket upgrades?

    What year is the bike?

Nearly bought a new APRC special edition back in 2011.

Love them but after reliability issues with Ducati Desmosedici and Ducati 1098R wanted Japanese reliability.

However still fancy getting one, love them with the Austen Racing can

After hearing the race bikes at Donington the other weekend, then seeing them do well at Sepang last weekend, I did some digging about getting one (RSV4-R not the factory model) but funds won't allow.

The brakes and suspension are from a 2012 model bike.

Yes they do .... Compared to the blade it's frightening - did a steady 90 mile journey (dual carriageway) at around 85mph and it returned 29mpg (on board computer) !!!

Just a word of warning .... fantastic that these bikes are, the spares are horrendous to get.

I had my 2009 Factory about 3 weeks did around 150 miles and noticed an oil leak from the front cylinder plus a loud rattling noise from the engine. Long story short, it's been at a Aprilia Performance in Tamworth for 6 weeks now awaiting cam chain tensioners !!! The oil leak is a common failing of the rocker cover gasket (sorted) and the noise points to the cam chain tensioners but there aren't any anywhere .... At this rate the summer will be over before I get it back so having serious thoughts about chopping it in for something else when or if it ever gets sorted !

Simon, you check the Aprilia recall data base to see if all the Mods done to yours mate?

Ever thought about an RC8R ? Great bikes and low down grunt and great in corners

Hi mate, had A&D in Denbigh run a check and all is well ....apparently !

Ref RC8R - I've had a Superduke which was great but bad for my back ... and a 2000 RSV-R which was awesome, so I do like the twins but not sure on the looks of the RC8 but would need to see a few in the flesh so to speak. Having said that I know when my RSV4 finally returns and I hear it then thoughts of changing will go out of the window lol - but appreciate your recommendations

Speaking to Alastair fagan at the fast bikes shoot he said he loves them and they allways win their bike shoot out but admitted there are reliability issues.. Shame they never bring that up in the mag!
