I have had a nightmare taking the fairing off my RR7 Blade. It was going well until the offside hex bolt with a rubber encased brass nut, it was seized and just turning, after much cussing and throwing things my 10 year old bravely volunteered to help, his little hands were a Godsend, he managed to hold the nut with water pump pliers while I wound the machine screw out. The upshot is I have buggered the nut. I don't know what they are called, so I can get some on eBay. Can someone please give me the correct name. The nearest I got was Well nut. But they don't seem quite the correct thing. Thanks, Mike.
Hi Mike you can get them from Speedy Fasteners on Ebay just had the same problem they seem to perish after a while Boo
Thanks for the help Chaps and Chapesses, Got them ordered. I think a drop of the special linctus, Copperslip will be in order. I'm not having that performance again. Turns a nice simple job into a miserable one. Also I have to find the funds for a hydraulic ramp lift, getting too old for the 'on ya back stuff'. Cheers Mike.
Keep an eye on ebay for a ramp I got mine off there which was as good a new (few months old) and the same one in the link for £150 can't tell you how much better it is to work on your bike lifted.
I just missed one locally a month ago. It was old but robust, and cheap, I got distracted and it was gone. I've just built a new workshop at the bottom of the garden 6MT x 5Mt. I'm still fitting it out so am pretty broke.
