OMG just get out and ride normal ie warm up the tyres first then ride as you would on your old boots its a silly old myth if you cant scrub tyres in by the time you have done a 2 or 3 miles its time to buy a scooter

Years ago we had to scrub the tyres in, The tyre quality and performance of an old TT100 is not the same as that of a modern tyre. The only thing I would caution is go canny on a new tyre in the wet for a short while. I have no basis for this advice other than it seems sense. In the dry I would be careful for a mile or so, then I'm off like a Long Dog!

I wouldn't worry too much about the melted tyre thing, personally I think some people may like the look, and run on very low tyre pressures to achieve it. Your going quite well on the road getting them that close.

First run out on new Metzeler M7 RR and must say i'm well impressed with them:cool: Never had that much confidence in and didn't like the feel of the qualifier 2's that came with the bike, hence the inch chicken strips that they had on them. Reckon another few runs and I'll be right on the edge with these:)
