Holy shit, Kevin! Is that yours? I feel so bad for you if it is. I feel you'd have been so conscientious about moisture. Is that was it is - condensation effect?:(

Or a bit of salt maybe?

Honda build quality is pretty shit these days even compared with the likes of Suzuki kwaks and the like.
In fact my zx6 stood the winter better than my blade by a long shot.

Oh, thank goodness. I hated to think it was another prop to add to your idle/hunting woes.

The rest of that affected bike looks good. Now I'm wondering if it might have been an over harsh cleaning product?

My rr4 fork lowers are taking tons of road salt ect each day and come up fine. I acf50 twice a year and just wash in autoglym each Sunday. I'd say some fool has used car alloy wheel cleaner on that poor sp . It's last owner obviously didn't care enough. It should be donated to me to care for .

That was my first thought. Some APC's can really screw up metals if they're not diluted properly.

    Certainly looks like chemical damage

have heard of lots of problems with BMW frames getting marked like that with undiluted Muck Off.

I have ceramic / polymer coated both my bikes and sprayed with ACF50 and no problems

I wonder if the popularity of the PCP has effected looking after a bike? for some people at least.
As I've always bought my bikes I've looked after them with resale etc in mind, plus the bike feels more personal I think if you own it.
I don't think I would care after it so much if it was a PCP.

Do you spray ACF50 on your fork lowers and calipers?

I think you would Loz. Our bikes (for most of us) become an emotional attachment rather than a financial one. In my younger days (not so long ago;)) I'd had bikes on hire purchase and personal loan and valued them just as much as I do my fully-owned bikes.

I do, everything apart from the brake discs. I use an airbrush so the spray is very controllable.

Yep, same. Medium works best for me. A spray of Mr Sheen on the bristles and job's done. Especially good for around the rear shock and swing arm!!:)

Also good for that is the cheapo alloy wheel brush from Halfords...not for the wheels but squeezing in around swingarm and other tight crevices o_O

...the bristles are on a bendy wire frame so you can angle it juuuuuuuuuuuust right for the job.
