Is it a case of the good old way of just joining the 2 wires together when side stand removed from the blade cheers everyone
I'd say the good old way 'joining the two wires to close the circuit' should be fine. But, never been a fan of this method If another switch, in this instance the clutch lever is sharing the same circuit. Peace of mind put a small resistor in line. Or remove the switch from the clutch lever at the same time? I think that's right?
I'm a big Fan of keeping a side-stand in the absence of one's own Pitcrewe, makes things far easier in the Garage and if it doesn't touch down (which most don't) then keep it. It's not like any of you are that good that saving 500g is guna make U any quicker is it?
Ha, I was just going to shout you then J. Think we had this discussion with Jase while we was away 'and bolting his side stand back on' Sure i heard correctly the racing lads have to remove them? You know, one less missile through the air and all that ? Of course could be total bollox, it's been a long week
Don't think so, there is no requirement for removal as far as I know, tiz just doing what the BSB Lads do that's all. They however have the luxury of a Full Pit-Crew to hand over and take back the Bike on to paddock Stands after a stint, where as Joe Bloggs has to do all this him self.
I was informed on TDR that it had to go in accordance with ACU regs, maybe one of the lads that are racing could enlighten us...
http://www.biketrackdaytrophy.co.uk/media/14976/FBK261.bttLR.pdf Seem to point in the same direction. Not read through it all, sure it mentions in NLR and hottrax that the side & Center stand needs to be removed. Along with the obligatory brain of course
Yeah side stands need to be removed as in all ACU regs as far as I know so any club abiding by ACU regs has to have centre and side stand removed
Defo gotta be removed as well horns well for no limits and Hottrax anyway this was just a piece I picked up ng street stock regulations . Must be different buddy
Fair enough, I stand corrected if Racing then. Makes sense to keep one for just Track Day use though.
It's to do with the belly pan having to catch oil, side stand leaves a hole and therefore doesn't catch oil... Tbh I don't miss the side stand, easy enough to do on paddock stands. Then, I do have a pit crew Seen some lads with a little tripod that goes in rear spindle, that's a great idea and easy to use single handed
Paddock stands only work if you have bobbins matey! Unfortunately yours snapped off at Donny! Your Bikes safely in the back of Barney's Van now and should be with you early this evenin'!
Ha ha, I know, will have to lash that or a new polished swing arm might be going on Thanks mate, appreciate that mate! Owe ya a pint at nec.
