I had one bounce off a helmet a few years back. Put my neck out!

That reminds me of a pheasant I hit once, i never gave it a second thought until i pulled up at a cafe. Its head was wedged between 2 of my down pipes and the heat had started to cook the bird. It smelled lovely but looked gross.
It took about 7 bikers and 15 minutes to try and get the bugger out !

Had a pheasant fly up at me at about 50mph, ,,,,,,hit me in the chest like a cricket bat ,pulled over and looked down at my leather jacket covered in blood then noticed the smashed screen ,,,, clocks hanging off down by the top clamp ,,,,,some of the screen damaged the chin part of my helmet.:(
Luckily the screen took most of the impact
The pheasant was flapping on the side of the road so I helped it meet its maker .

At least mine just smelled nice, like a bbq.
No damage , no cost and a good laugh trying to get its head back through the down pipes!
A better class of pheasant up Northumberland :)

Only proper bikers understand how fucked up a messy job it is just to be a biker.
Non bikers - wind in the hair, California dreaming , open road bollocks
Bikers- dead flies stuck to everything, your bike, your helmet, your leathers. Dead flies falling off your leathers onto the carpet and a load of ear bashing from the dearest. Chain lube fling everywhere. Road crud everywhere. Local wild life getting in on the act and playing chicken with said bike.....it goes on and on
Why the hell am I a biker oh Yeah just remembered :D
    POWER !

175 horses vs 1 tweety pie.............ain't no competition there. The only thing that annoys me is, when birds swoop out from ditches, I always seem to get the avoiding reaction. Not a good reaction to have really. Better off not seeing them & cleaning up the mess after.

When I did see the bird wedged on the brakes, it did make me wonder could it have caused the brakes to lock or fail.
Now that I think of it, earlier on the ride I was braking to take a left turn....going from 80 to 10mph & did think that the brakes did feel a little poor, but didn;t think anymore of it. I think the bird was just after getting hit at that stage. That was probably my first braking action after the hit & parts of it were probably causing loss of friction??

Pheasants do a great public service...

Far easier to write back in the day....Pheasant collided with wing mirror, on the old works vehicle accident sheet....than....I'm a twat and can't reverse without hitting the gate post...or oooooo that's a narrow gap...

This little fella decided he was tired and had a rest in the bash plate on my old mans tiger when we were in Portugal. Shouldn’t have done it at 60mph though I think.
